Daily Life – 10 Things To Do When You Are Home Alone Feeling Bored


If you’ve had an incredibly busy week and not a spare second to think, solitude and a few empty hours can be utter bliss. Other times it can feel quite the opposite.

If you’re not in the right mood to sit around and just luxuriate in doing nothing, being home alone can easily give you cabin fever.

Whether your partner or housemates have gone out for the evening and left you to your own devices, or you have a few spare hours at the weekend, here are some ideas to fill those idle hands.

1. Clean Home

Home alone with a lot of energy? Deep cleaning will make you feel like you’ve achieved something and leave you more at ease in your own home.

You’ll probably need to do that too, but when you’ve got a few spare hours, try tackling the stuff that never gets done.

Clean the fridge. Dust the skirting boards. Soap down the walls and get rid of those grubby marks and fingerprints.

2. Fix Something

You know the thing that broke last year and you still haven’t fixed? Now’s the time!


If it’s something serious, you might want to consider leaving it to a professional, and using your free time to look up and contact one. But if it’s something you can do by yourself – perhaps with YouTube’s help – give it a go.

3. Do the Laundry

You might think you’re bored, but I wouldn’t mind betting there’s a pile of unwashed clothes that could really do with your attention.


You’ll be thankful you dealt with them when you suddenly find yourself so busy there’s no time for hanging clothes out to dry.

4. Have A Bath

Is there a bath in your house? Run those taps and dig out the bubble bath from the back of the cupboard. Go all out. Stick on some music, or your favorite podcast. Light candles and incense.

Grab a book, if you can trust yourself not to drop it. Hey, you could even treat yourself to some chocolate or wine… or both. Use this time to utterly pamper yourself and relax those tense muscles.

5. Body Maintenance And Self Beauty Care

Let’s face it, we all have times when we let our personal grooming slide a little, whatever our gender.

Life gets busy, and we have a million and one things to do. So, that one time you find yourself kicking your heels, have a maintenance session.

Shave, wax, pluck, exfoliate, moisturize, self skin care and nail art… do whatever it is you want/need to do. It will empower you and boost your confidence.

6. Read the News

Whether you’ve never picked up a paintbrush in your life or were the star of your art classes at school, painting can be incredibly therapeutic, and is a wonderful way to amuse oneself for a few hours.

Dig out your old paints or steal your kids’ and let your imagination run wild.


8. Learn A Language

This is not something you can do in just a few hours, but you can find a method that suits you and get started.

Commit to spending a certain amount of time learning a new language from scratch, or refreshing your memory of one you’re already familiar with.

9. Yoga And Workout

It can be hard to find time to fit things like yoga into a busy daily routine, so when you’re home alone with time to spare, take advantage!

There are free and paid apps out there, but there are also thousands of classes available on YouTube.

Pick one that suits your ability level and turn your attention to your breathing and the sensations in your body. Improve your flexibility, strength, and peace of mind all at once.


Or Fancy a dance? Got a bit of nervous energy to burn off? It’s not as good as the real thing, but there are loads of Zumba classes on YouTube that are a brilliant way to spend anything up to an hour.

Work up a sweat, work out a few different muscles, and have a laugh whilst you’re at it!

If neither of the above appeal to you and you just want a classic guided workout, the place to go is, yet again, YouTube. Put on your favorite workout music and get ready to burn those calories.

10. Relax, Take A Nap

We’re pretty much all sleep-deprived these days, with our hectic work and social lives. And it’s bad news for our mood.

So if you have a few hours to spare, why not make up for all those days you’ve burnt the candle at both ends?

DAILY – Saturday Date Night – Visiting Home Decor Shop DEPOT


Today, I was supposed to go to the downtown with my boyfriend to get some special grocery and look around home decor shop. We got ready and headed to the shop called “DEPOT”.

To briefly talk about what store is this about, Gries Deco Holding GmbH, who has DEPOT brand, is a German retail company based in Niedernberg and operates a branch network for home accessories and small furniture under the brand name DEPOT. The company was founded in Schöllkrippen in 1948 as a company for the production of artificial fruits and Christmas tree decorations and was majority owned by the Swiss Migros Group from 2011 to December 2019.

Therefore, this brand is quite famous in Germany to people who are interested in home decorating and related stuffs.

Back to the main story of the post, I have just heard of the store but never been there actually, so we simply decided to visit to see what they have for home decorating. I visited one store in Frankfurt Zeil street.

Well, I would say that overall mood of the brand and store is quit different from what I have expected. Meanwhile expecting little bit heavy atmosphere, how it actually looks like was much more brighter and lighter. See below photos that I have taken.

As I have been into plants decoration at home, I just took some of corner for it in the store.

As you can see, entire atmosphere of the shop is floral, bright, light colorful.

I was looking around fake plant decoration to put on kitchen table, but my boyfriend did not like fake plant at all. That is why he kept being annoyed saying negative about fake products.


He insisted like we got to put real plant at home which finally makes home much eco-friendly and better. It was so annoying because I was not caring about that much like him, however, I had to admit that he got a point on that. Besides, there was no products making me feel like buying so I just quit getting one from there. Instead, we have got whiskey bottle for my boyfriend and glass straw for my personal water bottle.

Then, we had a dinner like snacks nearby and was about to go back to home.

Right then, I realized that my boyfriend has been still minding what he said to me about getting fake plant. He knew that he kind of pissed me off in the store. I think that was a sort of making up. He strongly suggested me to get real pretty plant or flower at flower shop in the city, saying ‘I would like to buy something for you, you have wanted to get some for a kitchen table.’ That was pretty sweet and cute.

Yes, we went to flower shop to check what they have. They did have such beautiful flowers in the shop. Among those, Sunflowers with vivid orange color captured my eyes and attention. So we got 3 of those. I put it in a long vase that I have already had as soon as we got home.

The bottle next to the vase? That’s right, it is the whiskey bottle that we bought from DEPOT. Isn’t it pretty? I usually have no idea about liquor bottles, but this one has simple but stylish shape, so I told my boyfriend it would be good idea to keep it for him.

I think I got to do this much often with my boyfriend. I mean, discussing about home decorating and figure out what kind of tastes he has on it.

Do not try to get obstacles and crisis by yourself when you can avoid it. Get away from hardness as much as you can. That would make your life little bit easier, because you will have hard time enough even when you are trying.

1.Avoid aggressive people

When someone tries to attack your feeling or whatsoever, try to ignore as much as you can. Your reaction could be their joy, therefore, ignoring is sometimes the best way to defeat one. Getting involved with those kind of people is not useful at all for you.

2.Do Not Do Favor Easily

You better think twice when you say ‘Yes’ to someone asking you any favor. Reckless decision is meaning for that. Consider and reconsider if there is something you have to double check before saying ‘Yes’. This would prevent you from deciding stupidly.


3.Do Not Bet If You Can’t Control Risk

You have to be careful of something you can’t mange or control. It does not matter if that is things or people. You will never want to say ‘I can’t help it’ facing with expected crisis or bad happening. When it comes to uncontrollable people working next to you, you should think about any idea how to deal with it as solutions in advance.

4.Meet Halfway If things are NOT so Important.

Better focus on few things that you really need to get. Long time discussion for less important part is not helpful for you. Too high self-pride guys are usually obsessed with it. But, as a result for them, it is highly possible for them to lose the most important matter. Do not try to win at all time, because you have few games to concentrate to win for sure. On the games, you will undeniably defeat ones.

Do not make Enemies, Do not take bothersome voluntarily, Make sure of what you do, Do not be stubborn for nothing. Those 4 Things would give you bigger benefit with less effort.

Philosophy – Conflict between Realism and Idealism

I have never had any time like this before.

I am losing my life path confusing what I eventually want to do. Ultimately, when I have seriously thought about reasons why I have to get such a serious pain internally, I can’t help myself but consider the most meaningful and important concept for me to chase for. I figured out that the most dreadful things that I am in between are idealism and realism.

In order for us to be able to differentiate between idealism and realism, we must first have a thorough understanding of the two terms. Idealism is when you envision or see things in an ideal or perfect manner. Realism, on the other hand, tends toward a more pragmatic and actual view of a situation. The two concepts can, in layman’s terms, be deemed different in perspectives; with idealism focusing on ‘what could be’, and realism focusing on ‘what actually is.’


Idealism and realism can be understood as two different perspectives. Some of the key differences between them include:

  • 1. Idealism causes you to see things in a very hopeful manner, shaping situations with your own ideas. Realism, on the other hand, causes one to assess a situation as it is, without overt emotional involvement.
  • 2. Idealists tend to be more positive when compared to realists, in how they perceive things and carry out tasks.
  • 3. When making decisions, realists are more goal oriented and thorough than idealists, who may have lofty ambitions, but lack the clarity and focus to put them into action in an achievable way.

Selective Realism, Selective Idealism?

Although there are a number of philosophies that apply realism or idealism widely, it is quite possible to hold realist or idealist positions on a long list of philosophical subjects / ethics, aesthetics, causality, science, mathematics and semantics, among others / with no taking a realist or idealist positions on everything. For example, to say that one is a mathematical realist means that one believes that mathematical concepts exist in some form independent of human thought, but this does not require one to be a realist regarding ethical norms or aesthetic values.

Realism helps individuals to keep in check with reality and determine the possibility of target goals.


Through education and parenting advice, those youths learn and develop their knowledge and visions. School and parents should encourage young people to choose their career goals by incorporating both idealistic and realistic visions.

A study conducted by the Social Exclusions Task force indicated that young people who develop ambitious and achievable visions, along with confidence and diligence, are more likely to achieve more career success. It is important that the youths are encouraged to develop both idealistic and realistic visions.

An idealistic goal can help change the world for the better, but it should be approached realistically in terms of the possibility of completion and capabilities of those working on it. It is necessary to keep a balance of the two visions, as both are equally important toward a successful career. Without one another, the two visions will either lead to failures or restrain individuals from advancing in their careers.

1.Speak Negative and Talk Behind Someone’s Back

People, who tend to think they are miserable by themselves, usually have a bad habit speaking negative and talking behind someone’s back to feel like they are better than them. But we all know that kind of words are not able to take them down or upgrade them. They are just marked a type of person enjoying talking behind. If you would like to be treated, respect others first and praise them.

2.Social Media Addicts, Too Worried about how people think

Addicts like, a.k.a. Social Media attention whore, tend to feel themselves that they are miserable. They are always worried about what if people think my post and photo look bad. They even feel jealous when they catch nice post of someone else and photo on social media. If you think you are one of them, you better quit your activity there to increase your mental health.

3. Never Get Over Things

If you are a type of person not getting over quickly and thinking about it over and over again, you might be one of them in miserable group. You better be positive and try to improve your life quality based on your previous mistake.


4.Give Up Easily

Miserable people feel scared of things that they have actually not started yet. Or they want to easily give up as soon as they face with any kind of problem after starting. If you give up with no effort to solve the problem, there will be only feeling of being defeated. That is why you try to keep going on to get achievement from procedure no matter what result you get.

5.Do not Forgive A Fault of Someone

Full of Revenge to someone is making you feel miserable at the end. That someone could be your family, friends or lovers. This does not mean you have to forgive all kind of fault from them. But at least, Try to be peaceful and thinking about your revenge once again, because this mindset eventually brings you a inner peace an freedom.

6.Focus On Your Cons ONLY

Everything has its own pros and cons. If you only focus on your cons only leaving your pros behind, ultimately, it takes you down and make your miserable. You can improve your cons with time. Do not lock yourself in a jail of cons and disadvantage.


7.Less Time Of Sleeping

Scientifically, How long you sleep last night is related to your happiness. People have better productivity and much happiness if they sleep well last night, however, for who does not, they tend to feel annoyed much and think negative. Therefore, for your own happiness, let’s try to increase wellness of sleeping.

8.Do not Eat Healthy

Of course, people feel happy when they eat what they want. But this must have a limit. According to research, miserable people usually eat a lot and release their stress with eating. But you have to know that this satisfying feeling is just temporary. For long term of your life, you better get a healthy diet to get more positive energy.


9.Set A Goal Which You Can Never Achieve

People overestimating themselves and set a goal related have a lot of case of frustration, as they did not finally achieve the goal. Avoid unrealistic and unreachable goals and instead, set little plan first to easily achieve. This way will gradually increase your achievement and satisfaction.

10.Do Not Work-Out

Everyone would know that exercise helps you not only physically but also mentally. When you do not workout at all, you have more chance to feel helpless in your life and lose your happiness. Get more exercise to have good feeling.

DAILY – GERMANY – Blazing Moments of passed days in Frankfurt and Eschborn

When I first moved to Germany, I once stayed in Eschborn area in Germany.

It was not bad but, sadly not that good for me either. Do not take it personally if there are viewers living in the area. I just meant that it is quiet, calm, peaceful area to live, but I just wanted to live in more cheerful and lively area in the country. But I strongly agree with a fact that It is such a perfect area for families having kids to raise or old couples.

Anyway, I moved out from there to be in Frankfurt city after 6 months living.

After moving to the city, I could be able to take a walk nearby Main river often. Taking a walk by waterside is one of the favorite things that I enjoy. So why not, It was a good idea to decide to move!
I even captured a enchanting moment when I was enjoying Mainfest in 2018. (as below)

Besides special events in Main River, Simply enjoying sunset in a daytime is also good for living in Frankfurt city. As I can be there whenever I want to, It is not even a tiring job to do everyday for walking and etc. Having couple of beers by waterside under sunset is kind of awesome feeling thinking like “It is not a bad idea to be alive for this”

DAILY – IDEA – Golden dusk view in Frankfurt , Germany

Dear Frankfurt lovers,

Herewith I share you splendid view that I captured in the evening in Frankfurt, Germany.
I usually call it a night at my balkony enjoying a view after light or heavy dinner.

I could see overall Frankfurt city view at one sight. Whenever taking view in my own eyes, I think of people out there, still walking down the street quite busy to head to somewhere. Some people are going home late after long day from work, and others may be going to enjoy night life no matter what day of the week it is. There would be other group still studying at library or working in the city. Here is Frankfurt, one of chaotic cities and busy bee-type city in Germany.

Yet, I still miss my path in this city wandering around what could be the next of mine.
